Sports for Kids in Hong Kong — Outdoors, Active, Real

Is Your Child Stuck Indoors After School?

Only 1 in 5 children in Hong Kong gets the physical activity they actually need each day. Most finish school, sit through extra classes, and spend their evenings on a screen. Parents see it happening and want something better for their kids, not another indoor sports hall or structured classroom, but something that actually gets them moving, challenged, and away from a screen.

Asia Adventure Sport was built for exactly that. We run outdoor sports and adventure programmes for kids and teens across Hong Kong, open to every child regardless of which school they attend.

Hong Kong's Outdoor Sports and Adventure Academy

Asia Adventure Sport (AAS) opened in 2022 with one clear goal; give every child in Hong Kong a place to move, explore, and grow through real outdoor sports and adventure. We run programmes across Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay, Kowloon Tong, Tseung Kwan O, and Hong Kong Island. Every session is led by qualified instructors and every programme is open to all children, and no school enrolment is needed. We hold the HKOLA Provider Badge, which tells schools and parents that everything we do meets Hong Kong's highest standards for safety, quality, and learning.

Overseas Programs

For families looking for something bigger during school holidays, AAS runs overseas adventure camps in Thailand and Vietnam. These are not typical school trips. They are structured outdoor experiences that push children beyond their comfort zone in a safe, guided environment. When a child spends a week navigating new terrain in Thailand, they come back different.

Why Hong Kong Parents Choose Us

There are plenty of kids’ programmes in Hong Kong. Most run inside sports halls or school gyms and stop there. AAS goes further in every way that actually matters to children and parents.

HKOLA Certified:

One of the very few outdoor and sports providers in Hong Kong to hold this badge. It tells parents and schools that AAS meets the highest benchmarks for safety, professionalism, and programme quality.

Open to All Children:

No school membership. No enrollment requirement. Any child in Hong Kong can join any AAS programme at any time.

Outdoors First

Real nature, real water, and real adventure across Hong Kong. AAS does not run sessions in sports halls. The outdoors is the classroom.

Exclusive Sea Squad Provider:

AAS is the only organisation in Hong Kong delivering Sea Squad training. No other provider offers this programme anywhere in the city.

Qualified Instructors:

Every single session is led by experienced, trained outdoor and sports coaches. Parents drop their children off knowing they are in safe and capable hands.

Multiple Locations Across Hong Kong:

Programmes run in Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay, Kowloon Tong, Tseung Kwan O, and Hong Kong Island. Wherever you are in the city, there is an AAS programme nearby.

Every Age Covered:

AAS serves children from 18 months through to late teens. Younger kids start with multi-sport and Forest School. Older children and teens move into adventure programmes and certifications.

Real Certifications:

Teens at AAS can earn internationally recognised certifications in ACA Sea Kayak, Intro to Climbing, and Sports Leadership. These are real qualifications that carry genuine value.

What Does Asia Adventure Sport Offer?

From toddlers taking their first steps in multi-sport to teens earning internationally recognised certifications on the water, there is a programme at AAS for every child.

What Do Kids Gain From Adventure Sports?

The research on this says children who try multiple sports show 21% higher self-esteem and 27% lower rates of depression compared to those who stick to one activity or none at all. The World Health Organisation recommends at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day for children aged 5 to 17. Most kids in Hong Kong are nowhere near that.

AAS programmes are built to close that gap in the most effective way possible, by making movement genuinely enjoyable.

  • Physical fitness through outdoor movement builds coordination, strength, and agility in ways a gym class rarely achieves
  • Confidence after finishing a kayak session or leading a shelter build in Forest School gives children a very different kind of confidence
  • Teamwork in sea squad, group hikes, and camp activities teaches kids to rely on each other naturally
  • Resilience in outdoor challenges does not always go smoothly, and that is exactly the point
  • Screen detox: Screen time among children increased by over 50% after the pandemic. Real adventure is one of the most effective ways to pull kids back to the real world.
  • Recognised skills: Certifications in kayaking, climbing, and sports leadership give teens something tangible they actually earned
  • Love for nature: Children who regularly explore Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay tend to keep coming back long after the programme ends

Research from the University of Michigan also found that children who spend regular time in nature score higher on problem-solving tests. That is what Forest School and outdoor adventure do that four walls simply cannot.

A parent once told us their shy 9-year-old said nothing during the first Forest School session at Perma Club. By week three she was leading her group to build a shelter. That kind of shift does not happen in a classroom.

Learning Begins With Us

Asia Adventure Sport support schools in offering a wide range of after-school sports clubs specifically targeted to suit young people. Alongside our work with schools, we also run amazing outdoor education programmes and holiday camps!

Opened in 2022, we now proudly deliver our services across Hong Kong and the growth continues as we develop new activity locations. We opened  our programs up in Hong Kong and looking to expand over Asia in the coming years. Our aim is to improve the skills of children in every area of sport that we teach and develop life-long positive attitudes to physical activity and healthy living. After-School Sports Programmes in Hong Kong

AAS partners with schools and runs open after-school and weekend programmes across Hong Kong. Any child can join regardless of which school they attend.

We currently serve families across:

  • Sai Kung
  • Tseung Kwan O
  • Kowloon Tong
  • Clearwater Bay
  • Hong Kong Island

A lot of parents in Sai Kung sign their children up for the Tuesday after-school multi-sport session and find their kids asking to go back before the week is even over.

We aim at inspiring our students to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more in their respective journeys of life.

Curriculum
Overview

The Asia Adventure Sport aims at offering all our students a broad and balanced curriculum that provides rewarding and stimulating sports activities and outdoor adventure to help support their holistic development.

What Hong Kong Parents Are Saying

Adam Martin

Both our kids play Shaolin Basketball with Gio, and they are learning a lot about hoops, sportsmanship, and grit. Gio is a great coach, and the kids love him.

Jenny Johnston

Can't recommend them enough. They were great with my son and had lots of fun outdoor activities. He had a blast each day.

Mandy Chung

Really great chance to explore the countryside at Sai Kung with lots of water games.

Karen King

Great coaches and experienced. My son had an absolute blast. Highly recommend this camp.

Real Outdoor Adventure Across Hong Kong

Most after-school programmes in Hong Kong happen inside four walls. At AAS the outdoors is the classroom. Kids hike through Sai Kung, kayak in open water, explore forest trails at Clearwater Bay, and take on real physical challenges, all with qualified instructors alongside them every step of the way.

Adventure for Teens Who Need a Real Challenge

Teen Unplugged was built for teenagers who are done with the usual options. Hiking, kayaking, coasteering, rock climbing, and survival skills. These are not watered-down activities. Teens who join walk away physically challenged, mentally sharper, and in many cases holding internationally recognised certifications they genuinely earned. Research shows that 84% of elite athletes played three or more sports before specialising. Starting broad and staying active builds better athletes and more well-rounded people.

Nature-Based Learning for Young Kids

Forest School at Perma Club, Clearwater Bay gives young children the space to play, discover, and learn in a natural setting. Time outdoors is directly linked to lower anxiety and better focus in children. In a city like Hong Kong where most kids move from school to tutor to screen, that matters more than most parents realise. Weekly classes and Easter camp options are both available.

We are proud to hold the HKOLA Provider Badge, giving schools and parents confidence that our programmes meet high standards for safety, professionalism, and learning quality.

Find the Right Programme for Your Child

Over 114 Hong Kong families have already made the move. Their children are more active, more confident, and genuinely excited about what comes after school. That shift starts with one decision.

Take the first step today and find the programme that fits your child.
