Our Team

The Asia Adventure Sport Team

Our team continues to grow and develop through training within our teams and professional outdoor communities. Facilitators have a variety of skills and certifications, with a minimum First Aid and WFA with CPR certification for any program. Many of our facilitators are certified lifeguards, outdoor instructors, and water rescue technicians. We also provide staff training for all team members on child protection/safeguarding and risk management.

DIRECTOR / HEAD OF MULTI-SPORT

Adam is the Head of AAS, combing his 19+ years of sports coaching experience, in the UK, USA and Hong Kong, his local knowledge and coaching a wide range of sports to children aged as young as 18 months old through to adults. Adam has gained valuable experience over the years working in different companies and is looking to build on that to give every student the very best. 

HEAD OF OUTDOOR SPORTS

From starting in the UK, then diverse places such as European Alps and Pyrenees to Saudi Arabia and Oman and lately Hong Kong and Mainland China, Mike’s travels have been about exploring, developing, and growing, for himself and the people he meets along the way. His background includes qualifications in IT, psychology, physiology, economics as well as a stint teaching. Recently (relatively!) Mike has been specialising in Emotional Intelligence and blending into Experiential Adventure. In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his two young dogs and finding new ways to challenge himself.

HEAD OF RACKET SPORTS

Cassandra is USPTR certified and has more than 10 years of international coaching experience in Canada, America, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Maldives. She previously held the position of Tennis Director in Lighthouse Point Tennis & Yacht Club and various high end luxury resorts in Indonesia and Maldives for Jim Courier Tennis. As a high-performance player, she earned a scholarship and played #1 singles and doubles for her university team in the United States. During her freshman year, she received the MVP award. As a junior, she captured the singles national champion title of Hong Kong.

HEAD OF SWIMMING

Kevin has been a swimming coach since 2006 and teaching students of all ages in developing swimming skills. He’s also very much involved in locating and recruiting potential competitive swimmers and providing training programmes to them. He also instructs and trains junior swimming coaches and adult triathlon athletes. As the head of swimming coach of Swim Sure HK and with its collaboration with Asia Adventure Sport, Kevin is ready to train improve our students’ swimming performance to its maximum potential, a skill for life.

HEAD OF BASKETBALL

Coach Gio was a late bloomer, first picking up basketball at age 16. Through hard-work and effort, he was able to play at the NCAA Division 2 and 3 levels, as well as playing professionally for the Staten Island Vipers of the American Basketball Association. Since moving to Hong Kong, Coach Gio has trained with numerous professional Division 1 teams such as Fukien, C2, Team Eagle, and Eastern, to name a few. Coach Gio has developed a coaching style and philosophy based on tough discipline and critical thinking, rather than rigid memorization and execution.

BASKETBALL COACH

Omar has over teen years of high-level playing experience in the Niger division 1 Basketball league. He has played on Teams in three different countries including Hong Kong, USA, and Niger. He has had the honor of representing on the Niger National team in international tournaments. He hopes to inspire young athletes and aid them in achieving success by providing the tools they need to become great players.

HEAD OF MARTIAL ARTS

Master Marshall Jen is the Head of Martial Arts at AAS Hong Kong. With over a decade of teaching experience in Universities, International School and Dojangs, Marshall is experienced in teaching with an emphasis on discipline and exploration learning. Marshall started Taekwondo at the age of five and continued his journey in Martial Arts through his active engagement in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and western Boxing. In his prime, he competed for Team Canada at the 2010 U.S. Open and the 2011 World Universiade Games. In 2017, the World Taekwondo Headquarters (Kukkiwon) presented him with a 4th Dan blackbelt.

OUTDOOR INSTRUCTOR

El has over 10 years experience in the outdoor industry, working in the UK, Oman, UAE, Iceland, France and HK. El is qualified in a range of adventure activitys included coaching paddlesport and climbing. She is passionate in sharing her knowledge and love for the outdoors. In her free time El enjoys exploring, finding new adventures and training with a dragon boat and outrigger team.

OUTDOOR INSTRUCTOR

Ryan has been a swimming and baseball coach for 6 years now. He is a certified lifeguard with Aquatic First Aid qualification. He also has experiences as an assistant in Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy. Moreover, he is also a WBSC Level 1 Baseball Coach.

OUTDOOR INSTRUCTOR

Michael was born and raised in Hong Kong, he joined The Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps when he was a kid, his love for the outdoors started at a young age. After finishing high school, he headed to Taiwan to study. He is a director of Canoe Sailing Club in the school and did a lot of canoeing and sailing with the members as well as hiking and camping. After he moved back to HK, he is now ready to follow his passion to become an outdoor instructor. Michael loves to see the students’ happiness whilst enjoying the activities with the Mother Nature.
