PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Job Posting: May 15, 2023

A PROGRAM COORDINATOR is an individual who is a competent and experienced outdoor leader, who has with a season or more worth of experience coordinating outdoor programmes (preferably 5 or more programmes). They act as a role model and mentor for other staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary field representative of Asia Adventure Sport. The point person liaising between clients in the field, field staff and the AAS Team. 
  • Provide the vision and guidance for the programs under their care and provide the necessary tools to staff for them to execute that vision.
  • Assign responsibilities and tasks to Instructors and Group Leaders to ensure the tasks completion
  • Acts as a role model and mentor to AAS staff
  • Able to answer questions and lead by example with regards to AAS policies and procedures, giving good, solid reasoning and substantiation
  • Ensure AAS programs meet or exceed the expected standard
  • Lead AAS programs in a safe and efficient manner, attending to the physical, social and emotional well-being of the participants at all times
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, good judgment (according to training, policies and current industry best practices), planning with attention to detail and risk management and organisational skills in preparing, leading and wrapping up AAS programs.
  • Facilitate educational outcomes for the participants, though framing, frontloading/funnelling the activity, using debriefing techniques (reviewing and reflection) and creating links to enable transfer of learning
  • Provide First Aid care if and as needed, to their level of training and according to the policies of AAS
  • Lead high dynamic activities, that can include (but not limited to), kayaking, cycling, rock climbing
  • Lead low dynamic activities, that can include (but not limited to), icebreakers, teambuilding activities, nature walks.
  • Prepare lesson plans for each programme to ensure educational themes and progression
  • Receive and give professional affirmative and developmental feedback to and from all levels of AAS
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with other AAS staff, clients, teachers, and the public
  • Provide pastoral care as and when needed

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist in logistical tasks, that can include (but not limited to), moving and repairing equipment, purchasing program food, cooking for participants, cleaning common and office areas and staff accommodation
  • Assist in office work and program development work, as needed
  • Lead or assist staff training in their areas of expertise and offer new areas or share knowledge for other staff to improve their skills
  • Be proactive in leading and assisting in improvement projects or bringing them to the attention of management if needed

OUTDOOR EDUCATOR

We are looking for full-time or part-time Outdoor Educators with prior experiences of guiding and instructing students and groups in outdoor adventure activities.

SWIM COACH

Asia Adventure Sport Hong Kong is a leading provider of sports programs in Hong Kong, specializing in adventure sports and activities. We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic swim coaches to join our team. If you have a passion for swimming and enjoy working with children, this is an excellent opportunity for you.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting swimming classes for children aged between 18 months and up.
  • Following our curriculum and guidelines to deliver high-quality swim lessons.
  • Ensuring the safety of all participants during swimming sessions.
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans that align with our swimming program.
  • Motivating and inspiring children to improve their swimming skills and reach their full potential.
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children and a strong understanding of child development.
  • Passion for swimming and a comprehensive knowledge of swimming techniques and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Coaching certification is mandatory
  • Lifesaving certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid) are preferred.

SPORT COACH

We are looking for full-time & part-time multi-sports coaches who have a desire to work in the coaching industry and are passionate about the sport.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Applicants for this position should have experience working with children aged 2 and above and a good knowledge of the sports we coach (basketball, swimming, tennis, multi-sport, gymnastics, parkour, etc.)
  • An ability to run structured and enjoyable sport/dance/parkour classes, which follows our curriculum and have ideas of drills and activities to apply to the lessons.
  • Knowledge of developing players as part of a long-term training pathway.
  • Enthusiastic and reliable coaches with a proven track record and prior experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification. Provide First Aid care if and as needed, to their level of training and according to the policies of AAS

Gymnastics Coach

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate gymnastics coaches to join our team. If you have a proven track record in coaching gymnastics and a passion for nurturing young talent, we would love to hear from you.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting gymnastics classes in either Artistic, Rhythmic, or Aerobic gymnastics disciplines.
  • Creating and delivering structured and engaging gymnastics lessons that align with our curriculum.
  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for young gymnasts to learn and grow.
  • Developing lesson plans that cater to the needs and skill levels of participants.
  • Collaborating with the administration team to maintain class registers and ensure effective communication with parents.
  • Assessing gymnasts’ progress and providing constructive feedback.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or above
  • Proven experience coaching gymnastics in the chosen discipline (Artistic, Rhythmic, or Aerobic).
  • Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, training methodologies, and safety practices.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote skill development and enjoyment.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and helping them develop their passion for gymnastics.
  • Relevant certifications and qualifications in gymnastics coaching are preferred.
