We are looking for full-time or part-time Outdoor Educators with prior experiences of guiding and instructing students and groups in outdoor adventure activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead AAS activities in a safe and efficient manner, attending to the physical, social and emotional well-being of the participants at all times
- Making sure AAS programs meet or exceed the expected standard
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, good judgment (according to training, policies and current industry best practices) in preparing, leading and wrapping up AAS activities.
- Facilitate educational outcomes for the participants, though framing and frontloading the activity, using debriefing techniques (reviewing and reflection) and creating links to enable transfer of learning
- CPR and First Aid Certification. Provide First Aid care if and as needed, to their level of training and according to the policies of AAS
- Lead high dynamic activities, that can include (but not limited to), kayaking, cycling, rock climbing
- Lead low dynamic activities, that can include (but not limited to), icebreakers, teambuilding activities, nature walks.
- Maintain open and respectful communication with other AAS staff, clients, teachers, and the public
